Boxabl was founded in 2017 by Paolo, Galiano, and Kyle Tiramani. The Boxabl Casita was unveiled in early 2020, with hopes to ship by the end of the year. Since then, the corporation says, interest has skyrocketed. Boxabl told Business Insider that it now gets 8,000 inquiries per day to acquire the Casita. 1300 people have joined the queue for the $50,000 house. Affordable but high-quality housing is the company’s main goal.

Early this year, the business introduced the Casita, a 375-square-foot prefab studio apartment. Videos of the unit expanding from a shipping container went viral on Twitter, and Boxabl has seen a surge in demand.

The corporation wants to explode. Though the company is modest presently, the idea is to establish a massive manufacturing facility that produces standardized sections that can be assembled to make unique buildings. Boxabl wants to raise $10 million from investors, a spokeswoman told Business Insider.

Their first product, called ‘Casita,’ is a 375 sq ft ADU supplied with a full-size bathroom, kitchen, appliances, and soaring ceilings with wide windows for under $50k.

According to reports, the corporation has received over $1 billion in pre-orders from a 47,000 person backlog.
